Character Descriptions

This section provides a short description of all the major characters in the book. Characters

The Narrator, Tommo - This person is a young sailor from the USS Dolly, who deserts his ship along with another sailor, and narrates his adventure.

Toby - This person is a sailor from the Dolly who deserts along with the narrator.

Kory-Kory - This person is about twenty-five years old, and lives in the house where the deserting sailors are staying.

Mehevi, Chief Mehevi, King Mehevi - This person is the highest-ranking warrior chief in the Typee valley.
