Film Adaptations

Give students the opportunity to watch excerpts of the two adaptations of True Grit. As a class, discuss the similarities and differences of the films from the novel. Do the film portrayals resemble your imagining of the characters?

News Article

Ask students to look in their local newspaper for an article that involves some aspect of the novel and bring it to class. They will present it in front of the class and explain why it relates to the novel.
