This section contains 30 daily lessons. Each one has a specific objective and offers at least three (often more) ways to teach that objective. Lessons include classroom discussions, group and partner activities, in-class handouts, individual writing assignments, at least one homework assignment, class participation exercises and other ways to teach students about the text in a classroom setting. Objective: In Act 1, Scene 1, there is immediate antagonism between the lawyer and the Cardinal that goes much deeper than their lifelong acquaintance, although some of the hostility may have to do with the division of Church and State, as evidenced by each man challenging the other's life purpose and choice of career. This lesson will discuss their relationship, based on this first scene.
