Character Descriptions
This section provides a short description of all the major characters in the book. This can be printed out as a study guide for students, used as a "key" for leading a class discussion, or you can jump to the quiz/homework section to find worksheets that incorporate these descriptions into a variety of question formats.
Characters
Oedipus in Oedipus - This character unknowingly fulfills a terrible prophecy and brings a plague upon an innocent city.
Phaedra in Oedipus - This character becomes obsessed with his or her stepchild and resorts to trickery to win this person's affections.
Thyestes in Thyestes - This character is tricked into eating the flesh of his or her children.
Ghost of Tantalus in Thyestes - This character is being punished for his or her sins after death, but is forced to cast his or her madness to his or her grandchildren.
