1. Why does Lydia want George to look at the nursery?

Lydia isn’t sure exactly how, but she’s aware that the nursery is somehow different than it was before and this makes her uneasy. She wants George to call a psychologist to take a look at it, though this isn’t explained entirely at this point in the story.

2. How does the house take care of them?

The house turns on the lights as they walk down the hallway. The house clothed and fed and rocked them, it played and sang for them, paints pictures. The house does everything so they don’t have to.

3. Describe the nursery. Why is it a special room? What are the dimensions?

The nursery is a 40 X 40 X 30 foot ceilinged room with glass screens all around it, including the ceiling. It was an expensive room to built but George and Lydia believe that nothing is too good for their children. The room projects whatever the children are thinking about onto the screen.
