This character is the main protagonist of the novel. He is a precog, meaning that he has the power to foresee future events, as long as they will be widely publicized. This character longs to reunite with his ex-wife even though she has clearly moved on with another marriage. At the start of the novel, this character fights the draft notice he receives, but after he feels that he has betrayed his boss in an unforgivable way, he decides to give up the fight and calls to inform the UN officials that he will be voluntarily accepting the draft notice requiring him to move to Mars permanently.
