Fun Classroom Activities
The 20 enjoyable, interactive classroom activities that are included will help your students understand the text in amusing ways. Fun Classroom Activities include group projects, games, critical thinking activities, brainstorming sessions, writing poems, drawing or sketching, and more that will allow your students to interact with each other, be creative, and ultimately grasp key concepts from the text by "doing" rather than simply studying.
1. Character Description
Write a physical, emotional, and relational description of two of the following characters: Jack Aubrey, Stephen Maturin, the Sultan, Ledward, Wray, van Buren, Sir Joseph, or Abdul. Add a portrait to go along with your written description.
2. Comparison
Read another book about Aubrey and Maturin by Patrick O'Brian and write a comparison and contrast between the two of them.
3. Posters
Create three posters about The Thirteen-gun Salute using a variety of media (chalk, paint, markers, watercolors, etc..)....
