Object Descriptions

This section provides a short description of all the major objects in the book. This can be printed out as a study guide for students, used as a "key" for leading a class discussion, or you can jump to the quiz/homework section to find worksheets that incorporate these descriptions into a variety of question formats.

Objects

Ainulindale - This is the Great Music and The Great Song.

Almaren - This is the first abode of the Valar.

Aman - This is the name of the land in the west, beyond the Great Sea, and where the Valar dwell.

Angband - This is Melkor's dungeon-fortress in northwestern Middle-earth.

Balar - This is the great bay, and the name of the isle in the bay.

Balrogs - These are the demons of fire which serve Morgoth.

Battles of Beleriand - These are the six battles that the Elves fight against Melkor.
