Objective
The objective of this lesson is to examine Tookie's criminal experience, and why she worked in a bookstore after she served her time. Tookie was sentenced to prison after transporting a dead body. Books helped her to survive when she was in prison, so she looked for a job in a bookstore after she served her time.

What did Tookie learn about the word sentence? What example sentences were given for the word? How did that help her? What did Tookie discover she had in her head when she was in a segregation unit? How books did she have in her head? How did those books keep her from going mad? How did books help her after she was allowed...
