"The Rise of Endymion" by Simmons is only part of a series of books dealing with the science fiction world of the Core and Old Earth. From the very beginning, the reader is thrust into the science fiction world of Cybrids that are reconstructed to study human personalities. This lesson will discuss what Cybrids are in relation to the science fiction study of them.

Lesson

1) Group Activity: Have the class split into groups of four and create a list of typical components to science fiction literature that compares to "The Rise of Endymion." After your group completes the list, have one member share your findings with the rest of class.
