This object symbolizes oppression, control, and violence. This object is worn by every Recruiter, causing the sound of this object to incite immediate fear in all Indians within earshot, for the Recruiters' brutal tactics are well-known to all.

This object symbolizes the loss of an innocent life. When Frenchie and his group encounter a pair of men who turn out to be both Recruiters and Indians, the situation goes awry rather quickly. After one of the men runs off with RiRi, the rest of the group gives chase, but when they see this object on the edge of the cliff, they know that RiRi is gone.
