In this section, Craig Mellow returns to his beloved Africa. He quickly becomes obsessed with restoring his family's ranching company, but is met with opposition. The objective of this lesson is to discuss Craig's obsession and the opposition to it.

Lesson

1) Class Discussion: After discussing the details of Craig's return to Africa ask the following questions: Why do you think Craig becomes obsessed with restoring the old ranch? What feelings or emotions do you think Craig experienced when he saw the ragged state of the ranch? Why do you think the government is opposed to Craig's idea of restoration?

2) Small Groups: Have the class divide into small groups. Have each group make a list of what Craig would need to do in order to restore the ranch. Come together as a class and compare lists. Do you think these changes would be easy...
