Watch the Film Adaptation

The Laramie Project was adapted to a 2002 drama film written and directed by Moisés Kaufman. Allow students the opportunity to watch the film and discuss its similarities and differences from the play.

Ask students to look in their local newspaper for an article that involves some aspect of the Shepard case and bring it to class. They will present it in front of the class and explain why it relates to the play.

Direct a Scene

Allow students the opportunity in the class to develop a scene from the play to full production. Students will be assigned or will choose their roles as designer, director, performers, etc.
