The overseer of Townsend's plantation, this person was the first slave purchased for work on the plantation. This person remains on the plantation after the death of the owner and begins a brief affair with the widow, hoping she will free this person so they can be married. This person is later hobbled after attempting to run away in the aftermath of the disappearance of this person's family.

Alice Night

This person was kicked in the head as a young person, leaving this person with some mental difficulties.
