Objective

The Kingdom of This World is a historical novel by Cuban author Alejo Carpentier. The novel tells the story of the political turmoil in Haiti following the French colonial days. Ti Noël is introduced in Part One: Chapter I as a slave on a plantation in northern Haiti, then known as Santo Domingo.
