Objective

The Kill Order is the third novel in James Dashner's popular dystopian young-adult Maze Runner series. Set thirteen years before the events of The Maze Runner, The Kill Order relates the back-story of the sun flares that have ravaged the earth and the emergence of a deadly virus known as the Flare. In this lesson, students will research the author and other books from the series, analyze the Prologue and Chapters 1-3, identify its narrative style, and explore the setting of The Kill Order.
