Objective

Lesson

1) Library research: Have the students research the author, Elizabeth Bowen. Explore the other works she has written, as well as her background. Take a look at interviews and articles about her writing and where "The House in Paris" fits in with her other novels.

2) Presentation: Have students get into pairs and prepare a presentation, using their research on Bowen and her canon. Have each group read an excerpt from different novels and short stories written by Bowen during their presentation.
