Character Descriptions

This section provides a short description of all the major characters in the book. Characters

Jack Aubrey - This character is one of two principal protagonists of the novel and is an excellent seaman and commander.

Stephen Maturin y Domanova - This character is one of two principal protagonists of the novel who is the ship's surgeon and also an outstanding naturalist.

Diana Villiers - This character is exceptionally beautiful and she easily controls most men through her physical charms.

Mrs. Louisa Wogan - This character speaks English and French but is American and knows how to ride a horse, but has atrocious spelling and poor penmanship.
