Ovid is born outside the city of Rome a few years before Christ. When he is young, his parents move to Rome in order to secure a good education for him.

2. What difference does Ovid and his father have about his career?

Ovid's father wants Ovid to study law and become a senator. He is against the idea of Ovid being a poet because there simply is not much money in poetry in Rome. Ovid displays his poetic talent by the time he is thirteen years old and continues to foster it, while taking his father's advice about a career.

3. Does Ovid marry? Does he have children? Describe Ovid's matrimonial and parental experiences.

Ovid marries three times. The first marriage happens when he and his wife are both teenagers. It ends in divorce a few years later.
