Objective

Anna's father is completely in love with the city of Shanghai and wants his daughter to be just as swept up by his love. Today's objective is to discuss the relationship between a father and a child, how it should influence the child, and how this might impact the child.

Lesson

1. Have each student describe the relationship they've had with a father or father figure.

2. In smaller groups, have students discuss whether they think parents realize the influence they have on their children.

3. As a class, have the students discuss whether they think it's a good idea for parents to try to make a child feel a certain way. What are the benefits of having a child that agrees with their parents? What are the problems with a parent who wants their child to always agree?
