Character Descriptions

This section provides a short description of all the major characters in the book. This can be printed out as a study guide for students, used as a "key" for leading a class discussion, or you can jump to the quiz/homework section to find worksheets that incorporate these descriptions into a variety of question formats.

Characters

Robert Langdon - This person, the main character of the story, is a Harvard University professor of Religious Symbology. The police summon this person to the scene of a crime to help them decipher clues left by the victim at the scene.

Sophie Neveu - This person is introduced as the police cryptographer who is summoned to the scene of Jacques Sauniere's murder to help decipher some of the clues left behind by the victim. Then it is revealed that the victim is this person's grandfather.
