The protagonist, this character quietly and confidently steps aside from a number of social expectations. Her victory comes by unconventional means, but it is no less complete for that.

Head of a monastery, this character acts more from concern of his institution than individuals. Though he seems antagonistic as a result, the wrongness of his actions is debatable.
