Possible Activities:

• Have the students think*pair*share the meaning of having no choice in a situation and how this applies to either Bobby and Julie or to Frank. Think*Pair*Share is an activity in which the students think on their own about the proposed question, then they pair with another classmate and discuss their answers to arrive at a consensus, finally each pair of students share their answer with the class.

• Encourage the students to write a paragraph about whether or not they agree with the decisions made by the characters at this point in the novel.

• Brainstorm a list of alternate things Bobby and Julie could have done rather than the actions they have taken so far in the novel.
