Object Descriptions
This section provides a short description of all the major objects in the book. This can be printed out as a study guide for students, used as a "key" for leading a class discussion, or you can jump to the quiz/homework section to find worksheets that incorporate these descriptions into a variety of question formats.
Objects
Army Ants - This is the name for the ant species that exhibits nomadic and swarming predatory behavior.
Brood - This is the name for ants that are considered immature (non-adult).
Castes - This is the name for ants within a distinct morphological class that perform specialized labor in the colony.
Colony - This is the name for a stable social construct of ants living together in one nest.
