Object Descriptions
This section provides a short description of all the major objects in the book. This can be printed out as a study guide for students, used as a "key" for leading a class discussion, or you can jump to the quiz/homework section to find worksheets that incorporate these descriptions into a variety of question formats.
Objects
Paris - This capital was the largest city in France and the home of the four friends in The 120 Days of Sodom.
The Bastille - This was a place in Paris used partly as a prison.
Nancy - This was the French town where Florville went to live with Madame de Verquin and fell into an affair.
Courval's Estate - This was the setting for much of Florville and Courval. It is where the couple go to live after their marriage.
