The objective of this lesson is to define the term "setting" and gain a clear understanding of the place and time in which this story takes place.

Lesson

1. Definition: Ask the class what the term "setting" means. Write ideas on the board as they are offered. Have a student read the dictionary definition. Offer clarification as necessary making certain the class understands that setting includes both time and place.
