The school is too large for the needs of the local community, and it was decided by the mayor that the school would be closed in June of 1960.

2. What does Tubby Cook do in the basement lavatory in Chapter 2?

In Chapter , Tubby Cook is in the basement lavatory kicking at a hole in the wall that the schools' boys had started. The wall gives away revealing a passage which Tubby enters, following a distant light.

3. What do the students suddenly hear at the school, and how does Principal Roon explain the sound?
