Character Descriptions

Characters

Richard Sharpe - He is the principal protagonist of the novel and is present in most--but not all--of the scenes in the narrative.

Sergeant Patrick Harper - He is a long-time friend and fellow soldier of the main character's and the two men have fought together in many previous campaigns.

Teresa Moran - She is a guerrilla fighter of some repute, known widely as La Aguja, or the needle, a nickname she acquired.
