Names

There are many different nicknames given to the characters in this book. Have the students choose a nickname for themselves that would fit their personality and abilities.

Movie Time

Watch one of the film versions of this historical story. Have the students write about which parts best showed what they imagined while reading the book.

Chapter Titles

Split the class into groups and assign each group one of the chapters from the book. Have each group create a name and illustration for their assigned chapter. Allow some time for each group to display their work.
