Political Cartoon

Students should create their own political cartoon about the Juppe scandal as discussed in the first chapter, "Paris to the Moon".


Students should create their own replica of either the carousel of the Luxembourg Gardens or the musical horse outside the toy store as described in the chapter, Winter Circus.


Students should create a collage with pictures, photographs, and magazine clippings of famous places in Paris mentioned specifically in "Paris to the Moon" and share their collage with the class.

Costume Design

Students should create their own fashion design of an outfit that could have been shown at one of the haute couture shows attended by Gopnik and described in Couture Shock.

Students should create a menu for the Cafe du Flores as described in the book and bring a sampling of an item from the menu to share with the class.
