Object Descriptions

This section provides a short description of all the major objects in the book. This can be printed out as a study guide for students, used as a "key" for leading a class discussion, or you can jump to the quiz/homework section to find worksheets that incorporate these descriptions into a variety of question formats.


Greasers - This is the name of Ponyboy's gang, named for their hairstyles.

Socs - This the name for the rich kids in town and rivals of Ponyboy's group.

Mickey Mouse - This is a horse that Soda loves.

Blue Mustang - This object strikes fear in Ponyboy and Johnny when they see it coming.

Church - This is where Ponyboy and Johnny hide after Bob's murder.

Gone with the Wind - This causes Ponyboy to realize that Johnny idolizes Dally.
