Objective

Chapter One

The Freedmans are an American married couple who are the joint authors of a number of novels including "Mrs. Mike", "The Search for Joyful" and "Kathy Little Bird." This lesson discusses the authors of the novel "Mrs. Mike," Benedict and Nancy Freedman.

Lesson

1) Library Research: Have the students research the authors, Benedict and Nancy Freedman. Explore their other works written both together and individually, as well as their personal backgrounds. Take a look at interviews, websites, and other sources to gain information on their writing and where "Mrs. Mike" fits in with their other novels.

2) Presentation: Have students get into pairs and prepare a presentation, using their research on the Freedmans and their canon.
