Character Descriptions
This section provides a short description of all the major characters in the book. This can be printed out as a study guide for students, used as a "key" for leading a class discussion, or you can jump to the quiz/homework section to find worksheets that incorporate these descriptions into a variety of question formats.
Characters
Virginia Woolf - This person was a British novelist, living and working in the early-to-mid 1900's.
The Editor - This person essentially provides commentary on the previously-unpublished writings she has put into this collection.
Julia Stephen - This person is portrayed by her daughter as strong-willed, intelligent and exhaustively busy.
Leslie Stephen - This person is portrayed by his daughter as being highly intellectual before his wife's death, and highly emotional afterward.
