Sidewinder, Colorado is in the Rockies, a treacherous area in the winter time. An unexpected storm takes Paul Sheldon by surprise, causing him to wreck his car. This lesson focuses on the weather in Colorado and the Rocky Mountains.

Lesson

1) Class Discussion: Paul Sheldon is driving up a mountain in Sidewinder when he loses control of his Camaro. Discuss Colorado weather. Why is the weather in Colorado different than in low lying areas? How does one know when a storm is coming? What can be down about traveling in the snow? Explain exactly how Paul wrecked. Could Paul have avoided the accident? Explain. Also examine Paul's injuries caused by the accident. How serious were the injuries? Do you think Paul will ever heal?
