Play Detective

Give the students the facts to a case with three possible suspects. Separate the students into groups of three and ask each group to investigate the facts of the crime. Have them eliminate suspects based on profiling and choose one suspect that they believe committed the crime.

News Articles

Ask each student to bring in an article about a prominent serial killer who attacked at any time in history. Have students discuss the degree of information the media supplies.

Interrogation

Split the class into groups of two. Ask one student to be Douglas and another to be one of the serial killers he interrogates. Create a script for the interrogation using facts from the book and your own imagination. Present the scripts to the class.
