Your Own Message in a Bottle

Have students create their own messages by writing or typing out what they want to say on a piece of paper. Students should put their message in the bottle. Fill up a container, and put all the messages inside and then have students pick a message out of the container and read it aloud for the class. Discuss some of the messages students found during the activity then recycle the containers.

Pen Pal

Find a school in another part of the United States or in another country and collaborate for pen pals. Have students share information about themselves, like where they live, what their home is like, the members of their family, personal interests, and other information.
