Lesson

1) Library research: Have students research the author of "Marjorie Morningstar," Herman Wouk. Explore the other works he has written, as well as his background. Take a look at interviews and biographical information to gain insight into his writing and where "Marjorie Morningstar" fits in with his other novels.

2) Presentation: Have students get into pairs and prepare a presentation, using their research on Wouk and his canon. Have each group read an excerpt from different novels written by Wouk during their presentation. At the end of the presentations, have students compare the tone and style of "Marjorie Morningstar...
