This character is a young English boy, the eldest in a family of four children, and he later becomes High King; not because of his success on the battlefield, but because he is the eldest.

Susan

This character is the second eldest of the four children and therefore is almost a motherly figure to the two younger children. She is the practical child, the one who attempts to make peace at any cost.

Edmund

This character is a normal, curious little boy when the novel begins, but he later betrays his brother and sisters. He clearly feels sorry for what he has done and apologizes to his siblings.

Lucy
