Many artists have written beautiful poetry about their experiences with the supernatural. Choose one scene or emotion in the novel and write a poem that evokes that feeling.

Obituaries

Many of the characters in the novel die and the family is unable to write obituaries on their behalf. Choose one character that dies in the novel and write an obituary in remembrance of them. What might the family want to record of their loved one's life?

Puppet Show

Create puppets using the materials of your choice to represent your favorite characters. Then, put on a short show for the rest of your class, reenacting your favorite scene from the novel.

Interviews

Imagine that a reporter has come to Japan to interview one of the characters from the novel for the newspaper. Create a list of 10 questions that the reporter might ask them, and imagine the character's answers...
