Object Descriptions

This section provides a short description of all the major objects in the book. This can be printed out as a study guide for students, used as a "key" for leading a class discussion, or you can jump to the quiz/homework section to find worksheets that incorporate these descriptions into a variety of question formats.

Objects

Chesapeake Bay - This is where the diving accident occurred.

Baltimore, Maryland - This is the location of the author's family home.

Cheyenne, Wyoming - This is where they went on family vacations. It was there that four-year-old Joni and her family completed a 100-mile horseback ride.

Sykesville Family Ranch - This is Joni's family's vacation home, located 20 miles from their main home.

Greenoaks - This is the rehabilitation center Joni went to after leaving the hospital.
