Lesson

Lead the class in a discussion about John Adams. What did the students know about John Adams before reading this book? What do they know about John Adams now? Why was Adams destined for greatness? What were Adams' character traits that would make him a great man? Do the students think Adams was a great visionary or leader? Or both?

Divide the class into small groups and have them research more about John Adams' life prior to his involvement in the American revolution. Have them prepare PowerPoint presentations to be shared with the rest of the class to compare and contrast information discovered by the various groups.
