Objective

A person's name is something that both identifies a person and helps to define them. In this lesson, students will consider the importance of names, and the way these tags can help to mold a person.

Lesson

1) Class sharing - Many parents, such as Jazmin's choose a name for their baby which holds a particular significance for them. Using either your own name or the name of someone you know explain why this name is significant. Do you think the name had any impact on you, or the person named if not using your own name.

2) Research - Some names are easily recognizable. Hitler, Madonna, and Jesus are examples. Choose a name that you believe to be one of these significant names and identify the connotations behind that name. For instance, when you mention the name Hitler, a man who attempted to exterminate an entire race...
