Class Discussion: What are Jane's interests, based on this first section?

Small Group Activity: Choose one of these interests. How do you know this is an interest of Jane's? How does this interest compare to you own interests? Can you relate to this interest? Why or why not?

Class Discussion: Create a KWL chart for Jane, listing what is known about her and what the students would like to know about her. As the students read the book, have the students add what they learn about her. Create a Venn Diagram for comparing Jane's interests to those of the students.
