Fun Activities

The 20 enjoyable, interactive classroom activities that are included will help your students understand the text in amusing ways. Fun Classroom Activities include group projects, games, critical thinking activities, brainstorming sessions, writing poems, drawing or sketching, and more that will allow your students to interact with each other, be creative, and ultimately grasp key concepts from the text by "doing" rather than simply studying.

1. Art

Choose a medium, such as sculpture, painting, sketching or another form, and create a representation of one of the people mentioned in "In Solitary Witness". When complete, students should share artwork with the class and discuss why this person was significant.

2. Journalist

Imagine that you are a journalist living during Jagerstatter's time and write about what was happening. Students should write an article on an event or person and share the article with the class. Students should also share why they chose the event...
