Objective
Jenna finds her friend, Vanessa, hanging from the shower curtain and while her death is ruled a suicide, Jenna knows better. Today's objective is to discuss what students might have done in the same situation.
Lesson
1. Have each student vote as to whether they think Vanessa's death was the result of a suicide.
2. In smaller groups, have students discuss what they would have done had they found a person hanging from a shower rod.
3. As a class, have the students discuss how they think finding someone dead might affect them. How might this incident have affected Jenna in her life? Can anyone not be affected by this sort of discovery? Why or why not?
4. Homework: Have each student write about a moment in their life which shocked them. Why? How has this incident affected them today?
