Character Descriptions
This section provides a short description of all the major characters in the book. This can be printed out as a study guide for students, used as a "key" for leading a class discussion, or you can jump to the quiz/homework section to find worksheets that incorporate these descriptions into a variety of question formats.
Characters
Stanley Yelnats IV - This overweight character finds a pair of fancy tennis shoes and is accused of stealing them from a famous baseball player who had donated them to a charity auction.
Mrs. Bell - This character is a math teacher at a middle school and uses a fat child and a skinny child to demonstrate a 3:1 ratio in class.
Stanley Yelnats III - This character is a well-meaning inventor who "never has any luck," and struggles to support his family with his bumbling explorations into "tennis-shoe recycling."
