This place was where a great deal of work in the field of aeronautics took place. Great advances were made in early airplanes and in spaceflight because of the people who worked here.

“Colored Computers” Sign

This object was a source of irritation and a reminder for the black women who worked at NACA that they were not seen as equals to their white coworkers. It was eventually removed and hidden so often that management gave up on replacing it.
