Character Descriptions

This section provides a short description of all the major characters in the book. Characters

The Narrator - This character is thirty-five years old, fairly average in most physical details, enjoys drinking whiskey and beer, and apparently has been subjected to medical experimentation.

The Dreamreader (The Second Narrator) - This character shares an abode with several other people, goes about his daily work, and progressively learns more and more about the place he lives in.

The Shadow - This character gradually weakens and grows ill throughout the story, and spends nights in a small enclosure and days performing physical labor.
