Think of how big the wagons were that were headed out West. Considering all of your possessions, what would you take with you if you could only fill one wagon?
Recreate what the wooden stakes that Per Hansa removed from the ground would have looked like. Include the names of the settlers on them.
Using clay or something similar create a miniature display of the wagon train of Per Hansa or another wagon train.
Try to put together an outfit from the time period discussed in the novel. Be as authentic as you can...
