Character Descriptions

This section provides a short description of all the major characters in the book. Harriet Vane - This Oxford graduate attends Shrewsbury College before moving to London to write mystery novels.

Lord Peter Wimsey - This Oxford graduate is famous for solving murders and makes a marriage proposal which is accepted.

Annie Wilson - This character is a scout, or maid, at Shrewsbury and is a widow with two small children.

Mr. Reggie Pomfret - This student at Oxford makes a marriage proposal which is rejected.
